Budemeadows Reviews
Some of our reviews, as posted on other websites
UKCampsite.co.uk:
July 2008
This campsite was the first stop on a weeks adventure, walking the Coast
Path. The directions sent with the booking confirmation were very accurate and
helpful, the journey was not stressfull at all.
The site was kept spotlessly clean and staff were helpful.
The facillities were excellent , with everything you could need there. The
takeaway was particularily good, with home cooked, well priced meals.
The setting was convienient next to the A39, and even though our pitch was next
to the road, the road noise was not a problem. The location was a good walk from
Widemouth Bay, but there is little there, so it was a good job the campsite had
such good facilities. We found a good pub in Marhamchurch on the way back from
Bude, which is worth visiting.
There was an excellent array of info and leaflets which were accessible 24hrs.
Grumpy Petes bar served delicious cappucinnos and real Ale in bottles.
Overall, would reccommend this site to anybody.

Hi again,
Yes we do like the back to basics style! Also, no it doesn't make you sound like
a snob! Live and let live, we all like different things!
Although I have stayed on plenty of normal sites. Simply the best one I can
recommend is Bude Meadows (www.budemeadows.com), although not sure if Bude (Nr.
Newquay, SW England) is any good for you?
It's a lovely site with a pool and very very good showers (and a bath!) and wash
up area. It is also very reasonably priced at £4.60 - low, £8.00 - mid, £10.50 -
high (seasons) for one night. 7 nights and the price goes down. Have a look at
http://fp.budemeadows.plus.com/Tariff_Budemeadows_camping_cornwall.htm
for the prices (and no, I don't work for them!).
We met some fantastic people there and formed good friendships. The site is very
kid friendly, and although you are kid free, when we were there it was no
problem at all as the kinda people it attracts ensure that it's a quiet site.
Lots of nice stuff quite close as well - bring on the cream teas!
Sorry for waxing lyrical about this site, but it is the best I have found to
date that would suit your needs.
Check out the ukcampsite link I gave above, as its a great site that has reviews
from real people that have actually stayed on the site. There is also a link to
sites that allow open fires if you are interested. If you can't find it, ping me
on here and I will post a link.
Will try and dig out some pics for you. Please don't post a personal email
address here, I will chuck them up on my flickr account if I can find them.
Pete

Western Morning News: 5 January 2008
Living
in the Westcountry it can be easy to become blase about the beautiful scenery
that we might regularly pass.
But it was impossible not to be blown away by the awesome sight from on high
over the beginning of the Camel estuary between Rock and Polzeath.
I set up stall for the night at Budemeadows camping park just off the Atlantic
Highway near Bude. Facilities have changed a lot since my last experience of
campsites about 20 years ago and campers here can enjoy hot showers, spotless
toilets, a heated swimming pool and electricity to fire my much-needed two-bar
heater.
I carried on up the A39, dropping off on to country lanes to climb up to the
magnificent Hartland Point and then on to Bideford and the top surf spots of
North Devon around Croyde.

LAID-BACK WAY TO LIVE THE DREAM
UKCampsite.co.uk: August 2007
Recently returned from a superb 2 weeks
at Bude Meadows and would highly recommend this site to any touring/camping
visitors to North Cornwall.
We all liked it so much we booked again for another 2 weeks next year. (Even our
12 year old daughter was happy - helped along by the heated outdoor pool,
pool/games room and “Grumpy Pete’s” bar/board games/Internet room).
The pitch sizes were good and the electric hook up superb (16amp all round). The
toilet blocks and washing up facilities were always clean and have plenty of
character (they’re not just prefab buildings in the middle of the site). There
are plenty of water/grey waste points around the site but you’re best off using
chemical toilet disposal point for your grey waste for ease of use.
The local beach is fantastic and only a mile away (Widemouth Bay). Dogs are
allowed on the South beach (which was the quieter beach). Whether on the North
or South, the beaches were superb with plenty to do. Great sand, rock pools,
shallow pools and superb waves for boarding.
The staff were always helpful and managed to act ‘over and above the call of
duty’ on more than one occasion. They made us feel as if we’d known them for
years and were part of their extended family. Simply brilliant!

18 CAMP SITE Budemeadows Holiday Park, Cornwall If your holiday
accommodation comes in a bag with a rubber mallet, this place is bang on. A mile
from the surf-strafed strand at Widemouth Bay, and a Camel Trail bike ride from
Padstow, Budemeadows combines immaculate facilities, heated outdoor pool,
playground, bar, with a proper bucolic sense of getting away from it all. Not
big, not crowded, even in high season - but book fast if you want to pitch up
here in August.
